New Job Posting Service

In response to member requests, NCDA is now offering a job posting service. The purpose of this service to connect employers with job seekers in the field of career development. The Jobs link is on the far right side of the navigation bar found on every page of the NCDA website.
NCDA is proud to announce a new collaboration with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) in providing a list of job openings. NCDA has partnered with NACE to use its established JobWire service to list positions in career services and related fields. NCDA members may use JobWire for listing their vacant positions at a discounted rate. Specifically, the discount allows NCDA members to save on postings as if they were NACE members. Viewing open positions is free.
This new collaboration with NACE fits with the goals of the current NCDA president, Janet Lenz. She specifically described one priority as "pursuing opportunities for collaboration with related professional organizations through sharing of resources, event promotion,
professional development and conference activities." Additionally, the collaboration shows a gesture of good will toward peer associations by reducing competition and redundancy of services. Of course, it could also increase hits to the NCDA website. But most of all, it serves the needs of NCDA members in a cost-effective and efficiently manner.
Since 2003, NCDA headquarters, Board of Trustees, and the website editor have been investigating options for providing a job posting service. The biggest concern was how to fairly offer such a service as well as reducing the burden on the staff. The secret to this NACE collaboration is that NCDA staff need only verify membership of the person placing an ad in JobWire. The rest of the duty is handled by NACE staff, who are well-equipped to handle such a service since they have been doing it for so long.
