About the Workshop:

Clients come to us because they need help with their careers, but we quickly discover that career issues are inextricably linked to other life problems--depression, anxiety, divorce, substance abuse, medical issues. Integrative Career Counseling is a simple but powerful framework for working with everything the client is struggling with, without losing sight of the career goal. ICC supports endless variety and creativity in career counseling because it is a model for thinking about what interventions to use and when to deploy them, not a prescription of what to do. ICC can be adapted to a range of settings, from private practice to workforce development centers and academic counseling environments.

This full day workshop will introduce participants to the four levels of Integrative Career Counseling, and provide both suggested interventions for each level as well as guidelines for participants to design their own unique interventions. We will devote time to the all-important intake session, focusing on techniques that engage clients and bring them back for more. Participants will have the opportunity to practice new techniques.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by a client's multiple challenges, or puzzled about how to get at the issue that you know is really interfering with a client's progress, this workshop will give you the tools you need.
