AOA Signs Letter Opposing H.R. 2092

Earlier in June the AOA signed on a letter opposing H.R. 2092, legislation to repeal the tax on indoor tanning services. A large number of studies correlate the use of a tanning bed and increased risk of skin cancer, including melanoma. Currently, the indoor tanning tax serves as the only policy at the federal level that takes action against the rising risk of skin cancer. Studies have shown that if no action is taken, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetimes. Prevention and early detection is key to help fight the rising risk of skin cancer.
