Obituary for Mary L. King

Grandmother of Dana Ivins, Care Center Manager and Funeral Director at Busch Funeral Homes

Mary L. King passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 27, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 5, 1939, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Phillip and Millie Malone. She was a 1957 graduate of East Canton High School and a resident of the East Canton Community for 70 years.

Mary was a member of Mapleton Church, serving as its treasurer for 20 years. When others think of Mary and LeRoy, they fondly remember them making treats for everyone, especially her butterscotch pies, chocolate candies, jellies, and jams. Mary also loved good mystery stories and all of James Patterson's novels.

Besides Mary’s parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Pete Malone, sister, Bonnie Smith.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memories are her husband, LeRoy King, with whom she celebrated her 65th anniversary on April 21, 2024; children, Debbie (Daryl) Ivins, Jeff (Shirley) King, and Pam Davis (Mike Yeater); grandchildren, Dana Ivins, Dan Ivins (Rachel Kolm), Darla Ivins, Nathalie King (Travis Foss), Nathan King, Amanda (Brandon) Vernon, and Matthew (Shawn) Visnick; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Bungard, Lorelei Yutzey, Baker Yutzey, Blake Vernon, and Brantley King; brothers, Bill (Kathy) Malone, Denny (Debi) Malone; sisters, Frances King and Millie Romans.

Friends may call at Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Following that, Mary's funeral service, led by Pastor Peggy Gardner, will commence at 12:00 pm. Interment will then take place at Mapleton Cemetery.
