Coming Up! Ohio Travel Talks: Ohio Historic Preservation
with Dani Cohen and Diamond Crowder from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office
Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.
Join Dani Cohen and Diamond Crowder, Survey and National Register Managers with the Ohio Historic Preservation Office, for an introduction to the National Register of Historic Places and the role of the State Historic Preservation Office in identifying, documenting, and preserving Ohio’s historic resources. Learn how National Register listed historic sites, buildings, districts, and archaeological sites, historic preservation tax credit projects can create opportunities to connect visitors with Ohio’s rich history and heritage. This session will explore how historic preservation can support tourism through historic tours, site visits, and other experiences that bring Ohio’s stories to life.
Diamond Crowder is a Survey and National Register Manager at the State Historic Preservation Office in the Inventory and Registration Department. Diamond has experience with identifying and nominating African American historic sites to the National Register of Historic Places. Diamond has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history from the University of Toledo and is currently complete her doctoral degree in U.S. history with a focus in African American history from University of Cincinnati. Diamond is an Ohio native from Columbus.
Dani Cohen is a Survey and National Register Manager at the State Historic Preservation Office in the Inventory and Registration Department. Dani has experience with the National Register of Historic Places program and the Ohio Historic Inventory Form, documenting historic places throughout Ohio. Dani holds a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Ursuline College and is a native of Ohio.
All Ohio Travel Talks begin at 11 a.m. and are free and exclusive to OTA members.
