Tuesday Evening: Young Funeral Directors (YFD) Social
Students are invited to kick off the convention by attending the Young Funeral Directors (YFD) Social on Tuesday, April 28, from 7:00–9:00 PM at PBR Cowboy Bar + Smokehouse. This relaxed evening is a great opportunity to connect with fellow students and young funeral directors, start building professional relationships, and ease into the convention with great food, drinks, and conversation.
Wednesday: Mortuary Student Day
Designed specifically for students entering the funeral service profession, Mortuary Student Day on Wednesday, April 29, offers a full day of career-focused opportunities. Kick off with a complimentary lunch, then explore the OFDA Job Fair, where you can connect with OFDA member funeral homes about apprenticeships, jobs, and your future career path.
Take advantage of the complimentary Student Portrait Studio to have a professional headshot taken.
Following the Job Fair, attend the Mortuary Student Forum featuring the YFD Panel, and gain insights from young professionals navigating the transition from school to apprenticeship and licensure. Afterward, explore the Exhibit Floor and experience all that the convention has to offer.
While Mortuary Student Day is intentionally designed with students in mind, students are encouraged to take full advantage of everything the OFDA Convention has to offer, including continuing education sessions, networking events, and time on the exhibit floor throughout the convention. The OFDA Convention is more than a single day—it’s your opportunity to connect, learn, and begin building relationships that will support your career for years to come.
