The 2011 Summer Term at Trinity Lutheran Seminary begins June 6 with an array of one-week courses, including several music courses, an opportunity for travel, exploration of the black church today, and a study of Family Systems as it pertains to congregational life.
Course titles include Celtic Christian Life & Thought 300-1200 AD; A Family Systems Approach to Congregational Life; The Virgin Birth in History and Faith; Where is the Church? Missional Leadership in the Black Community; and Deep Change and the Church in Mission.
Music courses include Music in the Contemporary Church; Music Technology for Church Musicians; French Organ Music; Perspectives in Choral Conducting; Children's Choirs; Introduction to Handbells; Music and Worship in the African American Tradition; and The Well-Tempered Organist.
The three-week course, Themes in Church History, will be offered June 6 through June 24, and a special immersion travel course about ministry and mining in Appalachia will be offered May 23-30. Greek 1 will be offered July 6-August 18. Most courses can be taken for graduate credit or audit.
