RSA Reception to feature Bob Livingston!

Have you always wondered why Austin bills itself as the "live music capital of the world"? You'll have a chance to find out at the reception on Friday evening. Austin musician Bob Livingston will perform from 8 to 10 PM.

Bob Livingston is known for some of Texas's quintessential progressive country rock, such as the seminal "Viva Terlingua!" recorded with Austin's Jerry Jeff Walker. In 1974, Livingston, Gary Nunn and John Inmon founded the Lost Gonzo Band, an eclectic group that recorded for MCA. Rolling Stone called the Gonzo's debut record, "one of the best albums ever to ever come out of Austin." Livingston has been called a "cosmic cowboy" for delving into the music and mysteries of other cultures including India, Pakistan, Nepal and the Middle East. With local musicians to playing along on their indigenous instruments, he has created an amazing diversity of themes and influences, mixing instrumentation and insights from both east and west. He still records and plays with Jerry Jeff and has put together a group from India and Texas called Cowboys & Indians that combines the traditions of eastern and western music and lore.
