Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine (WSU BSOM) and Premier Health Neuroscience Institute are seeking a physician that is an experienced educator to serve as Associate Program Director (APD) for the Psychiatry Residency Program. This role requires an innovative leader with a passion for education, clinical excellence, and the development of future psychiatry physicians. The APD serves as a key educational leader, clinician, and mentor, fostering excellence in teaching, clinical practice, and professional development. The successful candidate will work closely with the Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership and others to ensure the program’s success and alignment with Premier Health and WSU BSOM’s mission of providing exceptional patient care while advancing medical education. The APD serves as an educator, mentor, and role model for residents and faculty, promoting an inclusive learning environment that emphasizes excellence in patient care, professionalism, scholarship, resident well-being, community service, and continuous quality improvement. The Associate Program Director is provided with 0.40 FTE (16 hours per week) of protected administrative time to fulfill these responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead, develop, and assist the Program Director in the overall management and improvement of the residency program. Ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements. Perform ongoing clinical activity in a manner reflecting the highest quality of care and professionalism. Lead efforts to recruit high-quality resident candidates, participating in interviews and selection. Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that fosters resident growth, competency, and readiness for board certification. Mentor and support medical students, residents, and faculty, encouraging professional development and a collaborative learning environment. Monitor resident performance, providing feedback and support to ensure achievement of competency milestones. Foster a culture of academic excellence, professionalism, and patient-centered care. Serve as a liaison between the program, the medical community, and relevant stakeholders, both internal and external. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive residency and fellowship education across specialties. Participate in the continuous improvement and evaluation of the residency program. Previous leadership roles within residency or fellowship programs, such as Associate Program Director, Chair of Clinical Competency Committee, Chair of Quality Improvement Committee. Psychiatrist – Premier Behavioral Health – Southwest Ohio Premier Behavioral Health is seeking a Board-certified/Board-eligible Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. Candidate can choose to work at our Montgomery County location (100% outpatient) or our Troy, Ohio location (70% outpatient / 30% inpatient) The Psychiatrist functions as a member of a treatment team to deliver direct patient care in the adult mental health outpatient clinic. Specializing in medication management, the Psychiatrist provides comprehensive care for patients with mental health conditions by prescribing and managing medications, monitoring their effectiveness, and adjusting treatment plans as needed. This role also involves educating patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and treatment options, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Nature and Scope: Acting as a vital partner in the patient’s mental health journey, the Psychiatrist will manage the patient’s diagnosis by ensuring the safe, effective, and personalized use of medication to promote well-being and recovery. The Psychiatrist's role includes duties such as: • Psychiatric Evaluation: Conducting thorough assessments to diagnose and evaluate mental health conditions. • Medication Prescription: Prescribing appropriate medications based on individual needs and treatment goals. • Medication Monitoring: Regularly monitoring patients' response to medication, assessing for effectiveness and side effects. • Treatment Plan Adjustment: Modifying medication dosages or treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes. • Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about medication usage, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to the treatment plan. • Collaboration: Working with therapists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and coordinated care. • Crisis Intervention: Providing support and guidance during mental health crises. • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including medication management information. Qualifications: • Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program. • Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine by the State of Ohio Medical Board. • Board-eligible or Board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and mental health disorders. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
