Various fields in the sciences and engineering are very proactive about getting their members into the administrative hierarchy, allowing them to control resource distribution and other avenues of power and influence in the academy. By contrast, the communication discipline tends generally to regard those who have administrative aspirations as somehow suspect. This roundtable seeks to remedy the disparity by confronting three basic questions: (1) What do you do at your level of administration? (2) How can I get to that level? (3) How can I improve my chances in an application/interview of landing the job?
