RHETORICAL THEORY AND CRITICISM INTEREST GROUP
Call for Submissions
2012 Central States Communication Association Conference
Marriott Renaissance, Cleveland, Ohio
March 28 – 31, 2012
“Connecting in Cleveland”
The Rhetorical Theory and Criticism Interest Group invites submissions of papers and panel proposals for the 2012 CSCA Conference to be held in Cleveland. We welcome any topic related to the advancement of rhetorical theory and/or criticism. Research dedicated to the development and advancement of rhetorical theory and the tools employed in rhetorical criticism is highly encouraged. Additionally, we strongly encourage undergraduate and graduate student papers. For panel ideas, discussions about the convention theme, or to meet other members of the interest group, please visit our Facebook group page at: http://www.facebook.com/groups/250470454963357/.
We accept a variety of formats, including competitive papers, panels, roundtable discussions, spotlight and dialogue sessions, debates, seminars, and senior scholar/junior scholar sessions. These alternative delivery formats still provide an opportunity for individuals to conduct and present original research, yet allow more interaction and discussion with the audience during the conference.
Awards: The Rhetorical Theory and Criticism Interest Group presents two awards. For the first time ever, this year’s awards will honor two amazing rhetoric scholars who have given so much to the discipline and to CSCA. The Karlyn Kohrs Campbell Award will be given to the author(s) of the top paper. The David Zarefsky Award will be given to the author(s) of the top student paper. Each award winner will receive a certificate and monetary prize.
