---CALL OUT---Succession Planning

I am in the Ohio Fire Executive Program through the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association. I am working on the research portion of the course in which I am looking into the feasibility of implementing a succession plan within my department. The survey takes between 1 to 5 minutes to answer. The more data I obtain, the better. It will help direct the outcome of my project. Succession planning is defined as "a structured process involving the identification and preparation of a potential successor to assume a new role. By “structured”… refer to a process having some reliable structure and/or custom, thereby excluding from the definition the more ad hoc or “just-in-time” identification of successor." (Garman & Glawe, 2004, p. 120)
