VBS with a Twist: Good Shepherd, Cincinnati offers two VBS structures. The first is the traditional Monday through Friday VBS week. Then for the second offering the congregation offers the same programming for five weeks in a row on a week night. The second option works great for families that cannot be present for every week night evening of VBS week.
Emailing to Cell Phones: In case you did not know, you can email directly to teens cell phones. It shows up as a text message. Then when they reply you receive the message as an email. All you need to know is their cell phone number and their cell phone carrier name.
For instance, if their cell phone carrier is verizon then you simply add (@vtext.com) to the end of their phone number. Remember to include the area code. See attached for other carrier endings.

Gary includes a summary of what's happening in the Synod in youth & family ministry in the Synod monthly congregational mailing. Look for the florescent green flier that is included in the mailing. It arrives on or about the 1st of each month. The information is basically the same as what's in the youth & family e-bulletin but can be easily posted around your church building.
