Todd J. Cohen, MD, FACC, FHRS, is the Director of Electrophysiology, the Director of Advanced EP Technology and Innovations, and the Director of the Pacemaker-Arrhythmia Center at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York.  He is an associate professor of medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook.  Dr. Cohen has authored many articles in publications such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, Circulation, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.  He has served for many years on the editorial boards of the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and EP Lab Digest (and is the Emeritus Editor-in-Chief of the latter).  He is the author of the Practical Electrophysiology (the second edition) by HMP Communications; a primer book for allied professionals, cardiology and electrophysiology trainees.  He is also author of one of Library Journal's 2010 Best Health Books (a Johns Hopkins Press Health Book) entitled A Patient's Guide to Heart Rhythm Problems endorsed by Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, which is the first comprehensive book on heart rhythm abnormalities geared towards patients and their families.  He has served as principal investigator at his medical institutions for studies such as MUSTT, SCD-HeFT, and the EnRhythm MRI trial.  He has approximately 20 U.S. patents, and has licensed inventions to several leading medical companies. He is a member of the national medical advisory board for the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association. He collects contemporary art and serves on the board of trustees of the Nassau County Museum of Art. He has been married to Jill for 23 years, and has two children, a eighteen-year-old son, Justin, and a sixteen-year-old daughter, Brittany.
