Student Legislative Day - February 26
Interested in learning more about the legislative process? Want to affect pharmacy issues in Ohio? Here’s your chance! OPA is hosting a student legislative day Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Students will meet with their legislators, learn about current pharmacy legislative issues and have the opportunity to tour the Statehouse. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Sheraton, 75 E. State St., Columbus, 43215. Meeting Room: Governors CDE
The schedule will be as follows:
| 8:30 am | Registration: 75 E. State St., Columbus, 43215. Meeting Room: Governors CDE |
| 9 am | Meet with OPA staff, to review current pharmacy issues |
| 10 am | Meetings with legislators |
| 12 pm | Lunch on your own (we will provide a list of recommended restaurants within walking distance) |
| 1 pm | Meetings with legislators |
| 3 pm | Recap of day with OPA staff |
We ask that each student schedule a meeting with their Senator and Representative. To find out who that is for your area, visit http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/. In between meetings, students can take tours of the Statehouse, attend session or committee meetings. They are also welcome to attend meetings with legislators along with other students although we ask they keep groups to a maximum of 3. OPA representatives will also be available to attend meetings with you, if desired. There is no cost to attend, but attendees must be registered.
