OPA COVID-19 Vaccines: March 22, 2021 Update

OPA COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The vaccine allocation has now expanded to Phase 1E and Phase 2C of Governor DeWine’s vaccine rollout plan. This week’s distribution efforts focus on individuals with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19, such as cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, obesity. Additionally, individuals over the age of 40 are included in this phase, and those previously eligible continue to be appropriate candidates for the vaccine. Governor DeWine also announced that the vaccine allocation will be expanded to Phase 2D on March 29, allowing vaccine administration to all eligible individuals over the age of 16. Those aged 16 and 17 with parental consent are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, which is the only COVID-19 vaccine currently authorized for persons in this age group.

CDC Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated Individuals

As vaccine allocation increases over time, vaccinators are required by the Ohio Department of Health to report vaccine administration to the ImpactSIIS system within 24 hours of administration. Here are further directions for reporting options based on each vaccinator location technical capabilities.
