1. APhA’s Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services certificate training program:

Sunday, February 28, 2016 - OPA Office, 2674 Federated Blvd, Columbus, 43235

Due to demand, OPA will hold another session of APhA's Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services program. This is an innovative and interactive training program that explores the pharmacist’s role in providing MTM services to patients. This activity teaches  pharmacists the essential skills necessary to become a successful MTM practitioner. The certificate training program will enhance pharmacists’ clinical expertise in evaluating complicated medication regimens, identifying medication related problems, and making recommendations to patients,  caregivers, and health care professionals.

Current OPA members have preferred and discounted registration for this and other programs with limited seating. If space allows, non-member registration will begin after member registration.

BOP Member Nominations Sought
Are you interested in helping to shape the practice of pharmacy in Ohio?  The Ohio Pharmacists Association is looking for pharmacists interested in serving on the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.  Every year, the Governor appoints two pharmacists to serve four-year terms. The Board’s primary purpose is to protect the citizens in Ohio by insuring safe drug distribution. The practice of pharmacy is changing rapidly and your expertise is invaluable to the practice of pharmacy, as well as to the citizens of Ohio. As a Board member, you will be involved in licensure, rule making, and disciplinary hearings.  You will be asked to evaluate new technology, standards of practice, and information distribution systems. January 5, 2016 is the deadline for submitting nominations to the OPA Legal and Regulatory Committee’s Board of Pharmacy Vacancy Subcommittee.

All past applicants with no updates to their resume or CV, who wish to be considered for one of the 2016 State Board of Pharmacy vacancies do not need to complete the form but must contact the OPA office at 614.389.3236 or opa@ohiopharmacists.org.

BOP Rules Review Applications Available
The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy is currently seeking members for the Board’s 2016 Rules Review Committee.  This Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee, composed of pharmacists from a diverse array of practice settings, is responsible for reviewing all rules prior to their legislatively mandated five-year review date. It also proposes changes to current rules as well as reviews and recommends changes proposed by the Board.  The Committee is composed of Ohio licensed pharmacists in good standing and typically meets two to three times per year in Columbus for half-day meetings.  To be considered for the Committee, please complete the application and submit a current resume or curriculum vitae by January 8, 2016.
