Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week is fast approaching, and at the State Fire Marshal’s office, we are always looking for ways to engage both Ohio’s fire service and the general public. In addition to spreading the message of “Don’t wait – Check the date,” we want to also launch a social media campaign centered around the question: “What can you do?” We have sent this to the fire prevention groups around the state, but also want to let all of our fire chiefs know as well!

Here’s how you can help us spread the word: take photos of firefighters, local officials and community members holding a sign (a small chalkboard works great!) pledging one thing they can do to prevent fires or prepare for a fire emergency. It can be anything from “practicing my fire escape plan” to “unplugging my space heater before I leave the room.”
