Liberty Township Fire Department, Butler County, Ohio, is a combination career/part time organization comprised of 38 career Firefighter/Paramedics and 40 part time Firefighter/EMT’s/Paramedics. Liberty Township is a growing community with a current population of approximately 40,000 located on I-75 between Cincinnati and Dayton.

The fire department has three stations covering 28.2 square miles and responds to approximately 2800 runs annually. Liberty Township Fire Department is seeking experienced professionals with strong management and leadership skills in fire and emergency medical services for the position of Assistant Fire Chief. The Assistant Fire Chief reports directly to the Fire Chief. The role of the Assistant Fire Chief is to assist in planning, directing, and reviewing the activities and operations of the Fire Department including fire suppression, hazardous material mitigation, fire prevention, life safety code compliance, public safety education, emergency medical services, emergency management, and administrative support services. To assist in coordinating assigned activities with other Township departments and outside agencies; and to provide highly responsible and complex executive level support to the Fire Chief as a member of the Fire Chief’s management team.

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of ten (10) years fire and EMS experience, currently serve in the rank of Captain (or higher) in a full-time/career position with a municipal, township, or federal fire department.

Salary for the position is negotiable based on qualifications and includes an excellent benefit package.
