Concord Township is a growing community encompassing 23 square miles in Lake County, Ohio, 5 miles south of Lake Erie and 30 miles east of Cleveland. The Concord Township Fire Department is a progressive, combination department providing fire suppression, emergency medical services and fire prevention and education.
The Fire Department is seeking an experienced, energetic, self-motivated individual for the new position of Full Time Fire Safety Inspector.
Under the direction of the Deputy Fire Chief, the Fire Safety Inspector provides inspection and enforcement work in promoting fire safety and securing compliance with fire prevention codes. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: inspect new and existing buildings for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention codes; review building plans for compliance with fire prevention codes; participate in education of the public concerning fire prevention; witness testing of fire protection equipment including fire alarms, fire sprinklers and fire suppression equipment.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma; must possess and maintain an Ohio Driver’s license; a Firefighter Certification and Fire Safety Inspector Certification as recognized by the State of Ohio (ORC 3737.66 & ORC 3737.34).
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum (3) years as a firefighter and minimum (3) years actively involved with fire safety inspections with some plan review experience.
