Richard Cordray is a lifelong Ohioan, born and raised in Grove City. Over the last five years, Cordray served as the first-ever director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a position he was appointed to by President Obama. Before serving at the Consumer Bureau, Cordray defended Ohioans as Attorney General, and prior to that, he served as the Ohio Treasurer. Cordray received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, and was awarded a Master’s degree from Oxford University on a Marshall Scholarship from the British government.

Betty Sutton was raised in Barberton, Ohio, and worked her way through college at Kent State University. While still in law school, she won the first race she entered: Barberton City Council. Sutton went on to serve as Vice President of the Summit County Council, and in the Ohio House of Representatives. Betty successfully won election to the U.S. House of Representatives in the 13th Congressional District, where she served until 2012.
