CDF Advisory Council - Walt Lodes

Walt was appointed to the Advisory Council in 2013 as Representative for the Business and Industries Sector. He is employed, as a Consultant by the West Michigan Construction Alliance (WMCA) in Coopersville, Michigan under contract with Michigan Human Resources Development, Inc. of Lansing.  At M-HRDI, Walt serves as Operations & Training Manager and has worked for the 501c3 non-profit for over 25 years.

As Manager of M-HRDI’s Corporate Training Team, Walt along with fellow Master Trainer Aaron Leson have conducted over two dozen classes involving 400 CDF’s from a wide variety of agencies representing the public workforce development system. He has also created or partnered in developing several programs including; Labor Leadership Facilitation Program and Supervision & Leadership for Supervisors: A Primer for Responsible Leadership as well as numerous customized training offerings in a variety of workforce development, business and labor settings.

His education includes degrees from Grand Rapids Community College, Spring Arbor University and graduate work through the University of Michigan, Ferris State University, and Michigan State University. He is an NCDA recognized Master Trainer, Career Development Facilitator Instructor w/ E-Learning certification, as well as being a Global Career Development Facilitator.  Other certifications include Certified Business Solutions Professional (CBSP) through Michigan State University and a HPCD CoE Level 3 Facilitator/Auditor (High Performance Career Development Center of Excellence).  In 2011 he completed the Career Coach and Career Coach Instructor Training through Metrics Reporting and is listed on the NCDA Instructor Registry.

Walt has presented and served as an instructor throughout the United States and as a consultant to numerous groups and organizations on matters of training and workforce development. He is a member of the National Career Development Association, and serves on the Executive Board of the Michigan-Labor Management Association, Grand Rapids Community College Foundation Board and volunteers as an administrator and coach for the Northern Rocket Football League, Inc.
