The Rev. Sherwood A Schroer

Rev. Sherwood A. Schroer of Marysville, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at his home.   He was 90 years old.  A Lutheran minister for 65 years, he served churches in Webster, NY, Westerville, Dola, & Attica, Ohio, and worked as a missionary in Papua, New Guinea from 1946-1947. He was a 1938 graduate of Kenmore High School in Buffalo, New York; a 1942 graduate of Capital University; and a 1945 graduate of the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Columbus.

He attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man and enjoyed his affiliation with the Retired Lutheran Ministers Association.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Schroer, as well as his children, Robert, Thomas, Sylvia, Roger and Mark.  

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville. The Reverend Barry Scott will officiate the funeral service on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
