I was 52 and a father of two kids when I had my SCA at my church's 60th Anniversary Celebration Dance. I was an active field hockey coach and finished the week coaching my High School Field Hockey team. On Saturday, September 18, 2004, I collapsed while dancing with my wife.

I was very Blessed to have been saved by the use of an AED that was just purchased a week before I had my SCA. I was also fortunate to have a Fire Fighter and Nurses present at the dance, who sprung into action with CPR while another church member went to get newly installed AED.

I am passionate about the implementaion of "Public Access Defibrillation" (PAD) programs, and the installation of AEDs in all public places.
