YMCA staff lauded for saving a life

Susan Babcock, Ryan Hamilton-Miller and Darius Wrathall didn’t hesitate to jump into action when a member of their Mississauga City Centre Drive YMCA fell unconscious last March.                       

“Even though a bit nervous, we knew that doing CPR and using the defibrillator was the best thing to do,” said Hamilton-Miller, who, along with Babcock and Wrathall received official honours from Regional Council.                        

Soon after finding the runner on the floor unconscious and with no vital signs, the YMCA staff immediately called 911 and began CPR and used an automatic external defibrillator.
