School Bus Driver CPR Law Named For Boy Who Died
'Darnell's Law' Passed House, On Way To Senate
A Marlborough family may soon have a lasting tribute for the son they lost when five-year-old Darnell Cobb choked to death on a school bus in January 2008.
A state law requiring school bus drivers to receive first aid training may soon be named Darnell's Law.
"He would have had a chance, just a chance," said his mother Sonja Cobb.
That was all she wanted for her son when a paper fastener he tried to swallow became lodged in his throat.
The bus driver could only pull over and call 911, according to company policy.
