Upper Merion cardiac arrest survivor meets his lifesaver in person

When rookie Officer Michael Burton walked through the doors of the township building, he was greeted by many supporters, but the embrace of one man meant the most.

Prior to Thursday night's Whitemarsh Board of Supervisors meeting, the board arranged the reunion of two men who had met last month in the midst of dire circumstances.

Burton was honored Thursday for his life-saving efforts for Michael Topf, 67, of Gulph Mills, who was riding his bike in the Miquon section of the Schuylkill River Trail last month when his heart gave out on him.
