Six firefighters receive awards at council

Six firefighters were honored for their part in resuscitating a man who went into cardiac arrest at his home last March.
Fire Capt. Timothy Birch and firefighters Carl Aveiro, John Casali, Walter Guertin, Timothy Infante and Michael Maitland were given certificates of commendation and special pins by the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association during a city council meeting Tuesday.
The emergency workers also received commendations from Mayor Kevin Dumas and the city council.
