Police Officers, Firefighters Honored for Heroism

Certificates of heroism were given to several Rochester police officers and Rochester firefighters during the annual police department awards ceremony held earlier this week.

The certificates were given by the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association for their efforts in saving the lives of several people who suffered sudden cardiac arrest during the past year. The people whose lives were saved turned out for the awards ceremony and were able to meet the first responders.

Steve Johnston, defibrillation program director, presented the certificates to police officers Frank Ohm, Steve Krause, Travis Riggott, Bill Weiss, Chad Blanchette and Jerel Mockenhaupt.
