New Bedford Firefighters Recognized for Saving Woman's Life

Engine Company 1 of the New Bedford Fire Department was recently honored for saving the life of a city woman whose heart had stopped.

On Feb. 5, the Southeastern Massachusetts chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association presented the firefighters with its HERO Commendation.

On hand to receive the award were New Bedford firefighters Lt. Peter Mello, Dennis Macedo, Doug Pierce, George Gobeil and Peter Clark.
