Boonton Cops Restore 72-year-old Man's Pulse After CrashDailyRecord.comPolice officers pulled a 72-year-old man from a heavily damaged 2001 Mercedes on Wootton Street in Boonton on Thursday afternoon and administered a shock from an automated external defibrillator that restored the man's pulse. Boonton police believe the man, identified as Montville resident Robert Wilhalme, suffered a heart attack or some other type of medical emergency that rendered him unconscious and unable to react while he was driving. He collided with a car stopped at a red light, triggering a four-vehicle crash. Wilhalme was taken to the intensive care unit of St. Clare's Hospital in Denville where he was on a ventilator in the intensive care unit on Thursday afternoon, police said.
