SCAA Indy Chapter Hopes to Turn Tragedy into Triumph

After losing two children to a genetic cardiac disorder, Jackie Renfrow starts SCAA Indy Chapter to help others.

Renfrow lost two of her children to Long QT Syndrome, a genetic cardiac disorder. The Syndrome causes your heart rate to slow down. The loss of her two children has given her a mission: to have an AED placed in every public place in Indiana, and create awareness to help save others. Since establishing the SCAA Chapter Jackie has been assisting with fundraisers, and cardiac screenings. On November 14th, 2009, at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds in Danville, Indiana the 19th Annual Holiday Craft Show fundraiser will be held from 9am-4pm in the Hendricks Power Exposition Hall. Money raised from the event will go toward cardiac training and AED placement in schools or community places.
