CHAPTER NEWS AND EVENTS
Our Chapter had a great first organizational meeting on March 28, 2012! We heard several survivor stories and an update on the state of cardiac arrest in Michigan. We also discussed the acute need to recognize the potential for latent survivor challenges, including physical, emotional, and cognitive.
We are scheduled to hold our next meeting on TUESDAY, MAY 15, 2012, in order to further focus on our objectives and begin to turn our ideas into community action. The meeting will again be at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak at 7pm. Please click here for the agenda. For future planning, our next scheduled meeting will be September 18, 2012, location TBD.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to join us for a meeting of the Michigan Chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association (SCAA) at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak. Our intentions for meeting, and for this organization, are twofold: to improve survival from Sudden Cardiac Death in Michigan and to evaluate and address the needs of those who have sustained or been touched by a cardiac arrest.
This initial meeting will combine a few short educational presentations and allow time to discuss the needs in our community, as well as ideas for future directions of the organization (below). We plan to have a second meeting on May 15 to continue this conversation formally and will coordinate the opportunities for survivors to meet informally, to support one another and to emphasize the need for ongoing healing. We are excited to reinvigorate the Michigan Chapter and ask you to please join us, and bring others who might share our interests, at 7 pm on March 28 at the Heart & Vascular Services Center at Beaumont-Royal Oak!
