SO Rescue Sauad to Offer CPR Class

From: SouthOrangePatch - South Orange, NJ

The South Orange Rescue Squad will begin to hold an American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR Class on the second Sunday of every month. The first class will be held on Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The class is open to the general public and costs $15. It will be held at South Orange Rescue Squad headquarters, located at 4 Third St.

The Family and Friends CPR Class was designed for citizens who want to learn CPR, but aren’t in need of a CPR course completion card. This class is ideal for students, parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. The class will be taught by members of the Rescue Squad who are certified American Heart Association instructors.

When a person is unresponsive, and not breathing, CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, can be done to preserve intact brain function, until further measures are taken to restore blood circulation and breathing in a person.

Future classes will be held on July 14, August 11, September 8 and October 13. For more information, visit the Rescue Squad’s CPR page or click here to register for any of the classes.

The South Orange Rescue Squad is a non-profit corporation that is funded by donations from the community. One hundred percent of the donations to the squad go directly to the operation of the Rescue Squad.
