6th Biennial RSA Summer Institute
University of Wisconsin
June 1 - 7, 2015
The 2015 RSA Summer Institute will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, during the first week of June. The Institute's six seminars and over twenty workshops will be led by established voices in the field, in both English and Communication, as well as by younger scholars, all of whom are doing exciting, cutting-edge work in areas such as medical rhetoric, the discourses of citizenship, networked rhetorics, social protest, and computational and procedural rhetoric. The Institute will also include hands-on workshops on digital 'making,' grant funding, and publication.
With a tradition of rhetorical scholarship in both Communication and English dating back to its founding, the University of Wisconsin, Madison, is an ideal place for the Institute. Madison is easily accessible by air, and the city boasts the amenities of a large city (museums, restaurants, music) while remaining easily navigable. The UW-Madison campus, with its excellent facilities, is located near the center of the city and Madison's four lakes, close to hotels, public transportation, and the airport. We hope you will join our colleagues in rhetoric from the departments of English and Communications Studies in Madison in 2015.
