Complete Story 07/26/2010SHORT TAKESPalmetto, E-News, Medicare, Social Media, Insurers' Plans~ Palmetto to stay on a bit longer: On July 8, 2010, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that CIGNA Government Services (CGS) was awarded the A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) contract for Jurisdiction 15. The Medicare Part A and Part B MAC for Jurisdiction 15 is comprised of Ohio and Kentucky.
On July 23, 2010, a protest was filed with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) regarding CMS' award to CGS. The GAO is expected to issue its decision regarding the protest on or about October 31, 2010. This means that Palmetto GBA will continue to perform its existing functions in Ohio.
