Acupuncture Examination in Columbus --a major victory for the Ohio DC
I just got off the phone with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) who called me to say in their Board meeting last night they voted to conduct another Acupuncture Examination in Columbus based on my request and appeal to them. In as much as the Ohio State Chiropractic Board requires the successful passing of the NBCE acupuncture exam in order to attain certification this one particular requirement could potentially be a very expensive investment for the DC wishing to be certified in Acupuncture. The NBCE has always been held in chiropractic colleges around the nation. Since the closest college to Ohio would be National in Chicago, NYCC in Seneca Falls NY, Life in Marietta GA or Logan in St. Louis MO, the DC is required to travel and incur not only air expense but lodging meals etc in order to take this exam.
I am proud to say that this will be the third time this exam will be offered in Columbus Ohio following our acupuncture certification programs. This is unprecedented in as much as in the history of the NBCE from 1961 no exam has ever been offered other than a chiropractic college outside of the Columbus acupuncture exam. Obviously this is a very big victory for Ohio DC's.
I have in my file a personal letter from Dr. Anna Villarreal who was president of the Board on March 42008 expressing appreciation for my being instrumental in working with the NBCE in making it possible for Ohio licensees to take the acupuncture examination right there in Columbus.
The NBCE will conduct a special acupuncture examination in Columbus Ohio on Friday September 10. The deadline for educational requirements will be July 6 in which all documented hours must be into the NBCE. The late deadline is July 20. NBCE will require 25 DC's to take the Columbus exam.
Any questions on this upcoming NBCE exam please contact me. At this point the location is yet to be announced.
All the very best.
