Ohio Supports NCLC

The National Chiropractic Legislative Conference was conducted last week in Washington, DC. Ohio was well represented with the support of Drs. Jeff Zaika, Dick Thompson, Jeff Fedorko, Jim Powell, Rob Sheely,
Otto Schmidt and of course, ACA President Dr. Rick McMichael.

The keynote speaker was General Becky Halstead. "She was excellent beyond words," reported Dr. Zaika.

Congressional conversations included:

  • inclusion, as well as optional exclusion, of the health care reform,
  • increased access to veterans through VA clinics,
  • SB 1204 - Tricare insurance benefits to cover veterans families either in VA clinics or normal DC clinics,
  • expanded access to chiropractic care for Medicare beneficiaries and
  • educating members of Congress on the fact that PTs are not trained to diagnose.

Thank you to the seven OSCA members who participated in NCLC and to the OSCA's lobbying firm, Carpenter Lipps & Leland for securing appointments for our contingents to meet with congressional representatives while in Washington.
