Medicaid Chiropractic Benefits
Protected through June 30, 2010
We are excited to report that chiropractic services are protected in Medicaid through June 30, 2010. As you may remember, there has been a lot of controversy over the Governor's use of the tobacco settlement funds that were earmarked for Medicaid optional services and other key budget items. The 10th District Court of Appeals overturned a trial judge's ruling that blocked state leaders from liquidating the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Endowment Fund. Although the ruling is subject to a potential appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court, we now have the Governor's word that optional services will remain a covered service through this current budget, regardless of the Court's final ruling on the use of the tobacco settlement funds.
