What is the Biomechanical Movement Matrix?
The Biomechanical Movement Matrix (BMM) is an evidence-based method for evaluation of the active individual. This method of evaluation can be applied as a screening tool for determination of readiness to participate in exercise, as an assessment tool in the injured individual, and as a return to play outcome measure in terminal stages of rehabilitation. The BMM uses combination of objective movement screens, range of motion and strength measures, and orthopedic examination to identify biomechanical faults that increase risk for injury and provocative faults in the already injured. The BMM is an appropriate method of testing for the health care provider in the clinical, athletic training or on the field setting.
You will learn how to:
- Implement an approach to patient assessment that is based on a biomechanical evaluation.
- Review current science related to movement patterns concerned with patient assessment.
- Learn the principles of biomechanical testing and the development of pathways.
- Implement clinical pathways for patients care that incorporates global biomechanical assessments.
- Learn how to implement elite athlete screening procedures into everyday practice.
- Learn how to find specific problems in how your patients move and how to correct them.
