This webinar explores how the effective use of on-boarding and off-boarding practices can contribute to significantly reducing workers’ compensation costs. This course also satisfies the BWC's two-hour training requirement. Attendees will learn how they can download the new Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) Workplace Safety Training Guide, an easy-to-understand guide targeting the most common foodservice-specific safety hazards and tips on how to avoid them.
During the webinar, you will learn about:
- Hiring/on-boarding for safety and integrity to reduce workers’ compensation costs
- Utilizing assessments to hire for integrity
- Minimizing undesirable workplace behavior
- Utilizing Background checks
- Understanding the life of a workers' compensation claim
- Record-keeping for effective firing/off-boarding, and
- Effective off-boarding or firing undesirable employees
Webinar speakers include: RiskControl360°’s Brad Hunt, an expert in workers' compensation safety controls; Findley Davies’ Tara Morey, an expert in creating strategic HR systems; Kastner, Westman & Wilkins’ Keith Pryatel, a legal expert in employment and labor law; and Secure Check’s Mark Thompson, an expert in background checks and drug testing programs.
Reasons Why You Should Attend the Webinar:
- It’s totally focused on your industry, versus a general industry session.
- The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) now requires employers who participate in a group/group retrospective rating plan and have had a workers’ compensation claim within the past two years to complete two hours of mandatory safety training during the policy year. This means that companies who are group rating participants with an injury claim filed between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 must attend the training, regardless of the size or severity of the injury.*
- Failing to meet this requirement could jeopardize your group/group retrospective rating program status.
*For companies required to fulfill the two-hour training requirement, one company representative must attend the entire session.
** For PC-based attendees, your system must be Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server. For those using a Macintosh®-based system, you will need Mac OS® X 10.5 or newer.
