Student Essay Contest Winners Chosen to Attend SGAF

Congratulations Marla and Christina, essay contest winners!

Thank you to all who submitted terrific essays, and congratulations to student winners Marla Weisend of Walsh University and Christina Durrough of The Ohio State University! Students were asked to submit an essay on why advocacy is important to the practice of physical therapy. As the two winners selected, Marla and Christina will receive a trip to Portland, OR and attend APTA's 2010 State Government Affairs Forum. This event is designed to increase involvement in and knowledge of state policy issues that have an impact on the practice of physical therapy, as well as improve advocacy efforts at the state level.

Thank you again to all participants in this year's essay contest, and we encourage students to submit essays next year as well!
