HEALTH CARE REFORM ROAD SHOW

Northeast District

Cleveland Clinic Facility, 5001 Rockside Rd., Independence, OH 44131

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (HR 3590). In addition to establishing a public insurance option that would pay providers rates negotiated by the Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, expanding Medicaid, creating a national exchange to allow people to shop for health insurance plans and providing subsidies to low-income people in order to buy insurance, the bill also includes provisions relevant to you and your physical therapy practice, including:

  • Extension of the 2010 Therapy Cap Exceptions Process;
  • Authorization of a Direct Access study under Medicare;
  • Advancement of the Physical Therapy Workforce;
