Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, the attendee will be able to:

  • Understand the demands (clinical time & non-clinical time) required of an individual considering private practice.
  • Understand the process of applying for "in-network status" to both private insurances & ......
  • Choose from a variety of different electronic billing & documentation systems as well as monitor accounts receivable to ensure proper & timely reimbursement.
  • Comprehend the difference in reimbursement between small private practices & hospital/physician-owned PT practices & how to bill appropriately in private practice.

  • Minimize start-up costs to decrease financial risk & improve profitability.

Speaker Biography: 


Dayne Conley, PT, MPT, MS, SCS, PES - Dayne received his Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Marietta College in 1996. From Marietta, Dayne proceeded to Ohio University where he received his Master's degree is Athletic Training. In 1999, Dayne graduated with his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Gannon University. Dayne is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy & has practiced in out-patient/sports medicine clinics for over 10 years. During this time he has worked with athletes from the NFL, Arena Football League, MLB, Division I-III athletes, as well as hundreds of high school athletes. Additionally, Dayne is a certified performance enhancement specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a certification that has assisted him in training hundreds of professional, collegiate & amateur athletes. Under his direction these athletes have achieved elevated contractual status & athletic scholarships, while significantly improving their sports performance. Dayne is the co-owner of Conley Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine in Westerville (a subsidiary of Burkam & Associates) - a 3,400ft2 out-patient/sports medicine clinic opened in July of 1999. In February of 2010, Dayne opened a second clinic in Sunbury, Ohio that also specializes in out-patient/sports medicine care. Dayne's clinics have become successful due to their reputation for excellent patient care, a focus on therapist development & financially efficient nature.
