State Senator Bill Beagle is serving his second term in the Ohio Senate, representing all or part of Darke, Miami, Montgomery and Preble Counties. Beagle’s years of experience in both local government and small business have helped make him a leader in his community and an effective advocate for the people he represents.
As a champion of workforce and economic development, Beagle also represents the Ohio Senate on the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board and on the Ohio Third Frontier Advisory Board. In addition to serving as the Chairman of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Workforce, Senator Beagle serves as the Vice-Chair of the powerful Ways & Means Committee as well as a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Finance Committee, Insurance Committee, Financial Institutions Committee and Health & Human Services Committee.
Senator Beagle supported SB 258, OPA's fair pharmacy audit legislation that brought some much-needed safeguards and guidelines to the PBM-pharmacy audit process, which was signed into law in December. He also supported HB 44, OPA's emergency dispensing legislation aimed at protecting pharmacists who dispense medications in times of emergency, which was signed into law last spring. He also supported the laws that expanded the ability for pharmacists and pharmacy interns to immunize patients (HB 394) and to fit diabetic shoes (HB 326) – both of which were also signed into law in December. Senator Beagle has also been a key contact on several of the key pieces of legislation that OPA is supporting this year.
