Established in 1939, the mission of the Ohio Osteopathic Hospital Association today is:

To promote the influence and science of osteopathic medicine in Ohio by establishing, extending, and maintaining high standards of hospital service;
To support the objectives of the American Osteopathic Association
To foster communication and cooperation among Ohio institutions accredited by the AOA’s Healthcare Facility Accreditation Program (HFAP)
To enhance public awareness of HFAP accredited hospitals and foster high quality, patient-centered and cost-effective care. See HFAP in Ohio (Slow-loading PDF);
To review proposed hospital legislation and regulations in Ohio to ensure the needs of osteopathic physicians and their patients are considered;
To offer advice and information to members in order to maintain HFAP hospital accreditation and to assist other Ohio institutions that are interested in obtaining HFAP accreditation; and
To encourage the collection of osteopathic hospital statistics to support osteopathic postdoctoral education and research.
