FDA Launches Health Care Professional Outreach Program
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently launched an outreach program to educate health care professionals on how they can assist FDA in ensuring that prescription drug advertising and promotion is truthful and not misleading. The "Bad Ad" program will help health care providers to recognize and report misleading prescription drug information and provide easy ways via to report violations to FDA. This program will be rolled out in three phases. For phase 1, FDA is engaging health care professionals at specifically-selected medical conventions and will partner with medical societies to distribute educational materials.
