Davis, McIlvaine and Roehm Join OSA Board of Trustees

Columbus, OH - The Ohio Soybean Association (OSA) Board of Trustees recently appointed three new board members. Amy Davis of Warren County replaces former at large board member Sam Shuey of Clark County.

Chad McIlvaine of Ross County filled an open position in District 14, consisting of Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pickaway, Pike, Ross Scioto, Vinton and Washington Counties.

Jeff Roehm of Highland County replaces Jeff Sollars as the representative for District 13, made up of Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Hamilton, Highland and Warren Counties.

Davis currently raises soybeans, corn and wheat on her farm, and is a member of the Department of Agriculture Warren County Farm Services Committee, OSA and past president of the Warren County Farm Bureau. Davis is past chairman of the Ohio Soybean Council, past board member of the United Soybean Board and is a graduate of The Ohio State University's Ohio Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Program.

''I have been involved in the soybean industry for many years, and I'm very excited to have the chance to contribute to Ohio's soybean farmers in a new way,'' said Davis. ''The legislative efforts that OSA makes on behalf of farmers are very important and I'm proud to be a part of that.''

McIlvaine raises soybeans and corn, and is an active member in the agricultural community. He is a member of the Ross County Farm Bureau, Ohio Corn Growers Association and OSA, and is the current Vice Chairman of the Ross County Soil and Water Conservation District. McIlvaine holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The Ohio State University.

''It is very important to stay involved with legislative activities that help promote the agricultural industry,'' said McIlvaine. ''I'm happy to have this great opportunity to positively represent Ohio's soybean farmers at both the state and national level.''

Roehm raises soybeans, corn and wheat on his farm, is a member of OSA and currently serves as a board member of the Highland County Farm Bureau. He holds a degree in Diesel Technology from Northwestern College in Ohio and was selected to participate in the 2008 American Soybean Association (ASA)/DuPont Young Leader Program.

''The legislative activities of OSA are very important to the continued success of Ohio's soybean industry,'' said Roehm. ''The ASA/DuPont Young Leader Program has helped prepare me for this position, and I'm excited about representing Ohio soybean farmers in this organization.''

The Ohio Soybean Association is governed by a 25-member volunteer farmer board dedicated to education and promotion, as well as to uniting producer interest through support of legislative activities beneficial to the Ohio soybean industry.
