Steiner Appointed to Second Term on ASA Board
Columbus, OH The Ohio Soybean Association board of trustees recently elected Joe Steiner to his second term as a board member for the American Soybean Association (ASA). As the national organization for the Ohio Soybean Association and other state affiliates, ASA serves as a collective legislative voice, advocating at the federal level for more than 27,000 soybean farmers. A primary focus of ASA is policy development and membership.
Steiner is a Warren County soybean farmer and is a past president and chairman of OSA. In addition to being an OSA member, he is also a member of the Ohio Corn Growers Association, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and the Cincinnati Agribusiness Council.
"I am looking forward to serving my second term on the ASA board of directors," says Steiner. "It has been an honor representing Ohio at the national level, and I will continue to advocate for policy issues in Washington D.C., that could effect soybean farmers here in Ohio."
OSA has a total of three farmer-leaders who serve on the ASA board of directors and Steiner will continue to work with Rob Joslin, Shelby County soybean farmer and Mark Watkins, Hardin County soybean farmer, Ohio's other representatives on the ASA board.
The Ohio Soybean Association is governed by a 23-member volunteer farmer board dedicated to education and promotion, as well as to uniting producer interest through support of legislative activities beneficial to the Ohio soybean industry.
