Simmons Joins OSA Board of Trustees

Columbus, OH The Ohio Soybean Association recently welcomed Bruce Simmons as a new board member. Simmons was appointed during the June OSA board meeting and represents district 3, an 11 county region in northeast Ohio.

Simmons is the owner and operator of South Spring Farms and resides near Sharon Center, Ohio in Medina County. His operation consists of corn and soybeans and he is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau and holds his Ohio Commercial Applicator's License.

Outside of agriculture, Simmons is actively involved in several community associations where he holds several positions including treasurer of the U.A. Facility Golf League, member of the National Association of United Methodist Scouters, Boy Scouts of America and the Lymphoma Society.

"I look forward to serving on the OSA board and representing the legislative interests of Ohio soybean farmers," says Simmons. "I am confident that my agriculture background and experiences will be of benefit during my time on the board."

The Ohio Soybean Association is governed by a 23-member volunteer farmer board dedicated to education and promotion, as well as to uniting producer interest through support of legislative activities beneficial to the Ohio soybean industry.
